Last year as a church we worked our way through the ‘My One Word‘ course, as we asked God to give us a specific word for the year – a word which would grow our character, deepen our relationship with him, or send us on a journey of faith. Words such as Joy, Warrior, Watchman, Peace, Faith, Humility were given to us and changed us.
Here, Oliver shares his one word for this year, and encourages us to seek God afresh for our word for 2019.
My word this year is 'Cherished' — Gill shared at prayer meeting some weeks ago that this is a season to grow deeper in our relationship with God, and that’s really on my heart at the moment.
In my journey one of my greatest struggles is identity, and who I am in Christ, so this year I’m going to focus less on what I’m doing to be appreciated by others and God, and more dwelling in that place of being chosen and loved by Him.
Why don’t you spend time this January seeking the Lord and asking him to reveal his word for you this year. Share it with others in Grace Vineyard who can check in with you throughout the year to help you keep it in front of you, see how you’re doing and praise God for the way he is at work in each of us.
If you want to find out more, please speak with Oliver or Gill.
